Policy Statements: Environmental Policy

Abacus Careerwear in association with Marta Maratchi is committed to the continual protection and improvement of the environment in all areas of its operations. The Board of Directors are committed to this policy, and the implementation of this policy is a shared responsibility with its employees.

The following are guiding principles. Abacus Careerwear will:

• Comply with all environmental legislation and consider appropriate strategies to comply with forthcoming legislation.
• Aim to encourage the conservation of energy, water, and natural resources (as determined by process constraints and discharge consents).
• Aim to reduce pollution by minimising waste and by recycling materials wherever that is appropriate and where it is economically practicable.
• Properly dispose of waste that cannot be recycled.
• Aim to monitor relevant discharges and emissions to air, land and water to assess what action is necessary to reduce pollution.
• Aim to minimize the release of greenhouse gases, vehicle emissions and other substances damaging to health and the environment.
• Aim to reduce energy usage whilst maintaining levels of production and quality.
• Work in partnership with our suppliers to comply with environmental regulations at a local and national level.
• Provide adequate training and information on environmental matters to all employees.
• Review and where possible improve our performance against these guidelines every year.
