Midsummer Place
The Brief
Owned by Legal & General, Midsummer Place is a £150m modern and sophisticated shopping centre located in central Milton Keynes, and is part of one of the UK’s largest regional shopping centres. Midsummer Place offers over 450,000 square feet of prime city centre shopping space, with Debenham’s as its anchor store.
In 2004 Midsummer Place was re-designing its logo, and approached Marta Maratchi to create a wardrobe of garments to clothe staff across many areas including management, front of house reception, housekeeping and security. The garments needed to be smart and cohesive, and also fit for purpose for the different jobs involved.
The Solution
Marta Maratchi recommended taking the gold Midsummer Place logo and using it as a flash across all the different black garments, to ensure staff could be identified by customers, and to visually bring employees together as a team.
For Housekeeping we have designed a unisex breathable Polo, and Arctic v-neck Fleece to be worn with Action Trousers with pockets, and outdoor coats which are both breathable and waterproof.
For Front of House and Management we have recommended a black Polyester Wool Lycra® suit to be worn with a Grey Cotton Polyester Oxford Shirt.
For Security we will supply a Grey Cotton Polyester Oxford shirt, Black Poly Wool Trousers with a Polyester Wool blazer, and a bespoke designed tie.
